Federal guidelines mandate that anyone applying for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) must pass the Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam every two years.  The purpose of this test is to mandate whether a candidate is fit enough to drive safely.  Our physician will complete the examination, which includes: an assessment of your medical history, urinalysis, height, weight, blood pressure, and heart rate, as well as a inspect your lung, vision, and hearing function.

  • You must be able to determine the difference between the colors of traffic lights.
  • You must be able to hear a forced whisper at a span of at least 5 feet.
  • Your blood pressure must not be over 160/100.
  • Your blood sugar must be no higher than 200.
