-AFC_Lab_506-x-643_Its-RelevantYorktown Heights, NY — AFC Urgent Care is proud to announce that their onsite laboratory has once again met, and exceeded, all the criteria for excellence, as established by the national accrediting agency, COLA (formerly, the Commission on Laboratory Accreditation).

This emphasis on quality is extremely important in providing reliable test results – an essential element in assuring excellence in patient care. COLA accreditation is only given to laboratories that apply rigid and consistent quality standards, demonstrate constant accuracy in proficiency testing and pass a rigorous on-site laboratory survey.

“I can’t praise our Medical Assistants (MAs) enough, led by Lisa Hyde, our entire MA team Victoria Alejo, Joseline Cuateco, Bryan Gonzalez and Alyssa Martinez have kept thorough records of every day lab procedures as per our policies and procedures. Their hard work and dedication to detail is the reason we can provide exceptional care to our patients,” stated Seema Gupta, Center Administrator.

“In addition to our cola accreditation we are accredited by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, as well as the API (American Proficiency Institute)”, stated Dr. Rajesh Gupta, Medical Director of AFC Yorktown.  “These accreditations are just one way in which we are ensuring that exceptional care is given to our patients.  We are so proud to continue our tradition of being the premier urgent care provider in the area.”

COLA, the premier non-profit organization promoting clinical laboratory quality and excellence, is approved by the federal government, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, and is sponsored by the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians- American Society of Internal Medicine, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Osteopathic Association.
